Practising the Piano – Revised eBook Editions launched!

The Practising the Piano eBook series was originally launched in 2012 and has been read by thousands of pianists all over the world. We’ve been working on publishing revised editions in conjunction with the development of the Practising the Piano Online Academy and are pleased to announce that the first two parts are now available via our catalogue.

The Practising the Piano Online Academy has officially launched!

Digital music publisher Informance announces launch of the Practising the Piano Online Academy

London, UK  | Following a successful crowdfunding campaign on IndieGogo, London-based digital music publisher, Informance, is pleased to announce the launch of the Practising the Piano Online Academy. Building on acclaimed teacher and pianist Graham Fitch’s successful Practising the Piano blog and eBook series, it aims to be the ultimate online resource for mastering the piano.

The Online Academy is a subscription-based service which provides access to a comprehensive library of lessons, masterclasses, tutorials and resources from both Graham Fitch and other leading experts, including Penelope Roskell, Lucinda Macworth-Young and Mark Polishook.  The materials are presented in an intuitive, interactive manner and “will transform the way you approach playing and teaching the piano”, according to Informance founder, Ryan Morison.

As a starting point, the site already features almost 50 articles and resources containing over 70 videos and almost four hours of footage. There are also copious musical examples and printable worksheets for download. Content will be added on a continual basis following the launch and will include materials covering new topics such as improvisation and “applied theory”.

The following subscription options are available:

  • A free trial which gives access to all free content and up to five subscriber-only articles or resources
  • Subscriptions which give full access to all content and updates for either £7.99 a month or £79.99 per year
  • A Subscription plus eBook bundle which includes the entire Practising the Piano Multimedia eBook series (valued at £36) and the Complete Annotated Study Edition bundle for a once-off cost of £20 in addition to the £79.99 per year for the annual subscription option.

Help Create the Ultimate Online Resource for Pianists and Teachers

Digital music publisher Informance is raising funding on Indiegogo for the development of The Practising the Piano Online Academy

London, UK | London-based digital music publisher, Informance, announces that it is raising funds via Indiegogo for a new initiative, the Practising the Piano Online Academy.  Building on acclaimed teacher and pianist Graham Fitch’s successful Practising the Piano blog and eBook series, it aims to be the ultimate online resource for mastering the piano.  The funding goal is £10,000 and funds raised will be used directly for creating additional content and resources.

The Online Academy is a subscription-based service which will provide access to a comprehensive library of lessons, masterclasses, tutorials and resources from both Graham Fitch and other leading experts.  These materials will be presented in an intuitive, interactive manner and “will transform the way you approach playing and teaching the piano”, according to Informance founder, Ryan Morison.  Particular attention will be paid to the subject of practising. Author Graham Fitch says: “Effective practice is essential to mastering the piano but rarely taught.  As a result, I have spent decades researching and experimenting to find the optimal approach”.

Pianists and teachers across the world are being invited to support and participate in the development of this resource.  A number of great rewards ranging from discounted subscriptions and product bundles through to opportunities to sponsor lessons and obtain a series of one-to-one consultations with Graham are on offer.  Supporters will also have an opportunity to shape the Online Academy by suggesting and voting for topics and content they would like to see featured.
